Backstory: When Alina Brooks was born, she had been diagnosed with three rare diseases. Her parents, being very worried and afraid that they're baby might die, put her inside the hospitals, and allowed the doctors to do whatever it'd take to cure her. So needle after needle, medication after medication, and surgery after surgery, Alina Brooks at the age of five had become very screwed up. She spent her whole life in the hospital (her parents obviously very rich to keep her in there) and the doctors were only making her worse. She had never been outside, never tasted the fresh air- to live like a kid. All Alina could do was sit in her hospital bed- day in and day out. When Aline turned eight, she overheard the doctors tell her parents that there was nothing they could do about her diseases, and she was going to die within a month. Scared and confused, Alina for the first time in her life attempted to escape her hospital bed. Searching around the hospital alone, Alina went into a mysterious back room where the doctor's kept all the medicine and patient's blood. Alina accidentally knocked it over- and it spilled all over her. A sudden charge occured throughout her blood stream (the blood and medicine mixing with her already screwed up blood) and Alina got a surge of energy, and ran out of the hospital! She kept running, not home, just anywhere to get away. She slept in the park overnight, and when the sunlight touched her skin, she discovered she was able to shoot blasts of light.
So now she is 16, and she lives a secluded life far away from the hospital. Her parents think she's dead, and Alina is now afraid of needles and hospitals. She became a hero, so she could do all in her power to keep people away from hospitals- keep them safe. She goes by Starlight, because when she was little and had to stay in her hospital bed over night, her mom told her to look at the bright shining stars in the night, and she'd feel better. Alina still does it to this day.
