In one of the most distant and poorest municipalities in El Salvador we found a young woman wanting to take on the world. At only years old, Bessy has countless recognitions for her tireless work for the youth and development of her municipality. Her participation in her community development has led her to be part of important decision-making spaces , rubbing shoulders with many adults with a long history and recognition of her locality. The young woman has been a youth representative of the intersectoral committee of her municipality, a representative for one day in the Parliament of El Salvador, and even a representative of her department in the national phase of legislative debates. In she started a degree in Architecture, which makes her the first in her family to go to university . Bessy is, for her family, friends and community, an example. Her tireless commitment to her development has led her to be highly respected and admired and her level of influence has made her a leader.
From a very young age, Bessy participated in the Educo Youth Meeting Houses project , where she had the opportunity to train in rights, advocacy and advocacy, among other topics, which awakened in her the desire to actively participate in the fight for the rights of the youth and the development of their locality. A few days ago we had Cell Phone Number List the opportunity to chat with her about her experience. How do you see yourself in the future, Bessy? I see myself as an empowered and successful woman, defending the rights of children and adolescents, primarily promoting the participation and leadership of girls and adolescents so that their voices are heard and taken into account. What have been the barriers you have encountered so far? One of them could be financial resources, which are not always going to be necessary, but I am also an entrepreneurial woman who has been able to cope with that. At the same time, the help of my family has been very beneficial.
Do you think it's easy to get where you want? No, it won't be easy, everything is going to cost us. However, I feel that with effort and dedication we will be able to achieve it. What do your family and friends think of your aspirations? I feel that my family sees me as a person with many goals and they are proud of me, because I will be able to be part of the first generation of women who manage to develop in the professional area. Furthermore, my friends have seen me grow, trained from a very young age in the institutions and organizations that have given me participation and I have been able to raise my voice. Who inspires you? My mother, a fighting woman who shows me every day that you can achieve what you envision. What would you say to other girls to make them achieve their dreams? The message I give them is to project goals and dreams, to get involved in participation spaces. Because together we can improve the world.
