Skills-based volunteering is an alternative that can be developed by corporate groups that wish to encourage service in the community. Other ways to promote volunteering are: supporting employee initiatives (with the great variety that this represents such as education days, cleaning public spaces, toy collections, school supplies, donations, etc.), developing activity programs aligned to the core business and volunteering associated with civil organizations and what is called entrepreneurial volunteering which, for its definition, must include both mentoring and a deeper commitment of the company to employees and to social entrepreneurship. Thus, skills-based volunteering is based on recognizing the human resources that the company has, their talents and knowledge, and putting them at the service of the community through Corporate Volunteering. According to its management, the company will be able to maximize its impact on the community it serves with the consequent benefits that it also brings to its collaborators and of course to the corporate. Those attending the session had the opportunity to discuss their experiences and contribute ideas for the group as they agreed that this meeting had been of great value.
