Everything. Dogs care about people more then cats do, trust me... when my sister's dog left to another family he was REALLY sad and so was I.

And cats don't really care? Soooo not true.
You can create a bond with a cat too. They might just be too scared by the transition there to realize what's really happening. I know that my step-mom raised a stray cat from when it was a kitten till the time she actually got it in her house (had to convince my dad first) and got everything done to him with the vet. He would only let her hold him for quite a while, and he's actually warmed up to the others in the house by now and gets super jealous if he sees anyone else with my step-mum.

What's your point?

*sighs* Her point is that cats can develop bonds just like dogs... And trust me it's true, it's happened with mine. At first she wouldn't come out at all because she was scared of us and she would only come out at night when no one was out. And now she's out and about most of the day and allows us to pick her up and pet her and...you get the point...

The same as your point was previously, only reassuring that it's the same with cats.
